Islander Resort Wedding Jamie + Nicholas | Islamorada Wedding Photographer

As a toes-in-the-sand wedding photographer, I loved Jamie + Nicholas’s, Islander Resort Wedding! My bride and groom said I do by the sea in this gorgeous beach wedding and you have to scroll through the blog to see every single moment!

Jamie and Nicholas are from Fort Lauderdale but they still wanted to have a wedding that felt like a destination wedding! That’s the amazing thing about Florida, isn’t it? You can plan a tropical destination-type wedding, even if you live locally! There are so many amazing locations in the Florida Keys to do this, and Jamie and Nicholas chose an Islander Resort Wedding. Located in the village of Islamorada, the Islander Resort can host a wedding of up to 1,000 guests!!! The venue is stretched across a corals sand beach, the blue-green waters of the Atlantic, and tropical swaying palm trees. It’s a picture perfection location to say I do!

It is truly rare for a beach wedding venue to be able to accommodate such a large number of guests. The event spaces at the Islander Resort offer their couples the choice of space that is either indoor, outdoor, covered, or uncovered. The suites on-site are newly renovated, so any guests that you have coming in from out of town will feel as though they’ve stepped into paradise! Their suites feature screened patios. Which is perfect for sipping your morning coffee or tea while enjoying the sunrise over the horizon! Additionally, there are plenty of water activities at the resort available for children & families!

It’s safe to say that Jamie + Nicholas made a good choice when they went with Islander Resort for their wedding day! The bride and groom spent their entire wedding day positively elated and so full of warm smiles. It was easy to see can the amount of joy they shared in becoming husband and wife.

Their wedding day started out in their getting-ready suites where they slipped into their best day-ever attire. From there, Jamie and Nicholas decided to have a first look with each other before their ceremony. Their first look was filled with emotion and tenderness. Nicholas even gifted his bride a beautiful piece of jewelry during this time. They then set off to their ceremony which was held directly on the beach, overlooking the endless gorgeous horizon of Islamorada! Calm blue crashing waves and all!

Crisp blue and shades of sage green set the tone of their wedding day. Jamie’s bridesmaids all wore long gowns in their chosen shade of dusty sage. They paired their gowns with sandals for the beachy ceremony. Nicholas and his groomsmen were ever so sleek in 3 piece royal blue suits! They looked so dapper with their bow ties and vests! I personally love how the colors of their wedding day played into the natural tones all around them in Islamorada. It was a well-thought-out color palette, and perfect for an Islander Resort Wedding!

After they said I do, I took my newlyweds out to the dock of Islander Resort for some private portraits. Jamie’s multi-layered tulle gown danced in the wind and moved around so effortlessly for my camera!

The couple ended the night on the open-air dance floor, under cafe lighting when Nicholas dipped his bride and went in for a kiss, while their guests illuminated the dance floor with sparklers! Wait until you see it below!
