Angela & John came in from New York to have a laid-back, “tropical vibes only” Cheeca Lodge & Spa Wedding in Islamorada!
With just their siblings and parents in attendance, Angela & John decided on a micro wedding in the white sands of the Florida Keys.
When wedding day arrived, Angela had two first looks, and we pulled them both off at kind of the last minute. That’s the great thing about a laid-back wedding right? Plenty of time to do things your own way! Angela had a first look with her groom under the crossed palm trees at Cheeca Lodge. This location at the resort is absolutely perfect for a first look! Or if you are planning on a micro or intimate wedding, it’s also a great location for your ceremony too!
Angela also had a first look with her Dad! It was such a sweet moment and Dad got teary-eyed at the sight of his beautiful daughter on her wedding day.
My bride and groom said their vows under the cross palm trees. Their ceremony was very intimate and absolutely perfect for what they envisioned for their wedding day. After they said I do, the bride and groom sipped champagne. Later, they enjoyed some more tasty drinks that were crafted in custom coconuts. The coconuts were stamped with their names and wedding date on them, how cool is that?! There were loving speeches given by family members, a tropical-themed cake for Angela & John to cut, and of course plenty of delicious bites to go around!
Finally, my favorite part was walking down to the water and the dock with my bride and groom! There, we captured some gorgeous wedding day portraits!

[…] After they were announced, Laura and Abraham celebrated with a private champagne toast. From there, I spent some time with them to capture their wedding day portraits. We walked down to where the sea meets the sand. And of course, we took a stroll on the beautiful dock of Cheeca Lodge. The dock stretches all the way out into the blue-green waters of the Florida Keys. As we shot their portraits, the sun began to set in a gorgeous pink hue. This created an extraordinary backdrop behind Laura and Abraham, accenting their wedding portraits.
