As a Key Largo Wedding Photographer, I try not to play favorites because all of my couples have such amazing wedding days. But, this Baker’s Cay Resort Wedding definitely has a piece of my heart!

Daniela and Sam’s wedding day was amazingly fun! And that’s putting it lightly! The couple resides in Washington State but chose to have a Key Largo Wedding for a few reasons. Sam grew up spending his summers vacationing at his grandfather’s house in Key Largo. While Daniela also has family ties to South Florida with beloved family members living in Miami. So for them, a Baker’s Cay Wedding was exactly what their love story called for!

When wedding day arrived, a couple of super fun things happened that were unique to Daniela and Sam! We kicked it off before the bride even slipped on her wedding dress! Baker’s Cay Resort is known for its vibrant pineapple mural wall. So we used it as a backdrop to capture the bridesmaids and the groomsmen when they were in “getting ready mode”! The bride and her squad took the opportunity to pop open some champagne while we were there. But the groomsmen were not afraid to get a little goofy and do their best “Risky Business” impressions (pants included though!)

Once Daniela was dressed for the day she had three first looks! The first one was with her dad. It will truly melt your heart when you see his face when he took his daughter by the hand! One with her bridesmaids, and one with her groom (another tear-jerker!)

With the first looks complete it was time to head off to their seaside ceremony! With arms linked, Daniela and Sam came down the aisle together. It was beautifully symbolic of how they were entering into their marriage as one. The ceremony was very sweet and personal. Their guests were so overcome with emotion as Daniela and Sam became husband and wife.

With the music pumping, there were plenty of feet on the dance floor celebrating the night away. But my favorite moments with the couple were when the three of us were alone on the dock, and they gave me the freedom to have fun with their sunset portraits. The result was absolutely stunning, but you’ll have to scroll through the blog below to see the results! One thing I will say is that when you book your Key Largo Wedding Photographer, it’s so important to build trust and respect with each other before your wedding day! Staying in communication with Daniela and Sam about the details of their day and being respectful of the timeline we had in place allowed us the creative freedom to capture those fun moments in a way that was genuine!
