This destination wedding at Amara Cay Resort in Islamorada was elegant, intimate, and timeless. My bride and groom, Melanie and Craig, live in Florida but wanted to plan a getaway for their wedding in Islamorada. That’s the beauty of living nearby. The Florida keys have the best selection of luxurious resorts to plan a beachy destination wedding!
The color palette for Melanie and Craig’s wedding day was white and red. However, the florals were creatively styled to evoke the feeling of tropical meets boho. Melanie’s bouquet had pops of that rich red tone from her color palette, but the wedding arbor was amazing! As Melanie and Craig said I do, they stood on the private white sand beach of Amara Cay Resort. Behind them was a half-circle wedding arbor made of fresh florals and pampas grass. The uniquely beautiful shape of the arbor provided a view of the soft waves in the distance.

Typically, my couples will use the leaning palm trees to frame their ceremony. But Melanie and Craig’s vision for their ceremony really added another layer of beauty to their natural surrounding.
With Melanie and Craig pronounced husband and wife, and their guests headed off to cocktail hour, we used their ceremony space to capture their formal wedding day portraits. Melanie’s sleek gown was the epitome of beauty and grace. Side by side with her brand new husband, they were a picture-perfect vision of newlywed bliss.
